白內障成因

白內障是雙眼自然老化的結果，在香港，每10名70歲或以上的長者之中，便有7名患有白內障，情況十分普遍；不過，亦有不少患者年紀較輕，可能與以下其他成因有關：

• 深度近視
  
• 創傷 (可致外傷性白內障)
  
• 長期使用含有類固醇的藥物
  
• 患有其他疾病，包括糖尿病、青光眼或新陳代謝疾病
  
• 長期暴露在陽光及紫外線之下
  
• 虹膜炎
  
• 遺傳 (即先天性白內障)

白內障症狀

白內障常見病徵如下:

• 視力模糊，感覺眼前有一層薄膜
  
• 對強光敏感、畏光
  
• 視物顏色變得暗淡或偏黃
  
• 出現眩光、重影或灰點
  
• 近視度數加深
  
  
  

不過，早期白內障未必有病徵，加上不痛不癢，市民不應單靠病徵自行判斷是否患有白內障。踏入50歲後，應定期接受眼部健康檢查，及早確診和治療。

About Cataracts

 

Cataracts are one of the most common eye diseases in Hong Kong. It is also the number-one cause of blindness. In 2009, there were roughly 54,000 patients waiting for cataract operations at hospitals under the Hospital Authority. Furthermore, of those patients, up to 42,000 of them were aged 71 and above.

As an individual becomes older, the lens of the eye starts to age and gradually turns cloudy. The lens is responsible for focusing light onto the retina, much like the way the lens inside a camera works. If the lens becomes cloudy, light cannot be focused and patients suffer from impaired vision.

囊內摘除法

手術時整個白內障晶體連帶外囊一起摘除
因為併發症多，術後視力不易矯正，目前已很少採用此手術



囊內摘除法囊外摘除法

摘除白內障晶體時，保留部份囊袋
將白內障組織取出
由於傷口比較大，需縫6至7針
視力恢復所需時間較長



超音波白內障手術

手術刀造出微切口
以超聲波將白內障分成細塊
吸取出白內障組織
放入人工晶體
